Memusi Foundation

Exists to support people and communities that are trying to make a difference through education. We offer hope and help children unlock their potential with a goal of striving towards the alevation of poverty. We are doing this through Education. Memusi Foundation was started in support of a single school in Magadi, Kenya. Working directly with a local community who had the passion for education, the Foundation started to work with them to realise their own dreams for their children. Now working with a number of schools in Kenya and Tanzania, we operate with the same model of supporting those communities who have the faith and belief in making a real difference.

Believes in children regardless of their circumstances, gender, race, disability or behaviour. Our purpose as a charity today is to transform the lives of the UK’s most vulnerable children. We believe in the abused, the most vulnerable, the forgotten and the neglected. We will support them, stand up for them and bring out the best in each and every child. We do this because we believe that every child deserves the best start in life and the chance to fulfil their potential. We use the knowledge gained from our direct work with children to campaign for better childcare policy and to champion the rights of every child.

Save The Children

UK's poorest children are bearing the brunt of the recession, with some missing out on regular hot meals or new shoes. Institute of Fiscal Studies (IFS) figures which estimate that there are 3.5 million children living in poverty in the UK and predict a steep rise in the numbers in coming years. Save the Children aims to raise £500,000 from the charity appeal to help boost low income children's school careers and provide basic essentials such as cookers, furniture or toys for their families.

School For Social Entrepreneurs

The School for Social Entrepreneurs (SSE) was founded in 1997 by Michael Young who believed that "Everybody has the capacity to be remarkable". Since then we have been supporting individuals who are starting & growing social enterprises and community organisations via our unique action-learning courses. We know that social entrepreneurs favour action over theory so our courses are dynamic, interactive and packed full of inspirational sessions that lift the lid on the key challenges faced when starting and leading a social enterprise. From humble beginnings in East London our network of franchise schools now supports hundreds of social entrepreneurs a year across the UK, Ireland, Canada and Australia.

Believes the impact of untreated caries on people’s lives is huge – and demands attention. There is a simple, affordable and effective way to make access to pain relief possible – train rural Health Workers to safely extract infected teeth and relieve pain. This is what we do. Bridge2Aid empowers Health Workers who are already established and well respected members of rural communities, providing them with the skills, experience and equipment to help those in need. Training is carried out by volunteer dentists and dental nurses who spend approximately two weeks in East Africa with Bridge2Aid participating in a Dental Volunteer Programme. Since 2004, 3.1 million people in East Africa have been given access to safe emergency dental care because of Bridge2Aid’s training programmes.
