Bernie completed his mission to build & open his first solar powered computer classroom for at Memusi School, Magadi, Kenya for the Memusi Foundation. Having raised over £30,000 the classroom was completed successfully.

 

He opened his second computer classroom at Upendo Primary School in Kimimi, Kenya working with Camara Education and was named after his late Mother Philomena Hollywood. 

 

He has recently opened the first solar powered community school in a develeping apart of Kenya in association with Amber Energy 'Power 2 Africa' project. 

 

He is a Trustee of the Turing Trust which as deliver over 250,000 computers with educataional software to Schools within Malawi. 

 

He is passionate about Computer Science & wishes to give every child the opportunity to learn how to code by the time they leave primary school to give them the greatest start of securing future employment in the world's most employable sector.

Bernie has a passion for rowing & is now bringing that to life with the Grosvenor Rowing Club, Chester founded in 1869 with a tradition of producing world class rowers in all categories including Masters (60 plus).

 

In Bernie’s 40th year of giving back he will take part in the Talisker Whisky Atlantic Challenge in December 2022 and row solo across the Atlantic Ocean as race of 3,000 nautical miles & up to 90 days at sea unsupported, seen as the worlds toughest row!

 

Looking to raise awareness and a signifcant amount of funds for "Samartians" and for "Love Rowing" charities.

 

Bernie's "Boat Of Hope" will be like a boat never seen before, it will be a floating work of art commsisioned by the world reowned artist Justin Eagleton & will be the worlds first boat of its kind which will allow donors "tap to give" & actually interact with the boat itself!
